Hi,

The BQ25306RTER fails and burn when we connect in hot plug the battery (2S1P li-ion 3500mAh). The input charge voltage source is 12V @ 3A . I need assistance on why this phenomen occirs. Attached is the board, schematic, BOM and layout.

Hi,

Current/voltage spikes during hot plugging may cause damages. Hot swap protection circuitry should be added.

Hello Raphael,

To get the best assistance I would recommend making a sperate post linking one of the E-fuse devices you are interested in implementing for hot-plug protection.

Generally the E-fuse should be placed in the power path to protect from overcurrent/overvoltage.
