BQ76920: Accuracy of Cell Voltage Measurements

I am currently using the BQ76920 AFE in my BMS design. I was able to replicate the Cell Voltage Error Curve quiet similar to the one that is in the datasheet:

My question now is, why is the first channel VC1 always more off than the remaining ones as can be seen in the figure? Is this done for a specific design reason?

Furthermore, is there an explanation why the BQ76920 is only capable of doing measurements with 3-5 cells? Why couldn't it be utilized to use only one cell for example? Does this have something to do with the internal regulators?
