TPS65987DJEVM: I2C read values become all 0xFF

Part Number: TPS65987DJEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987D

Tool/software:

Hi

I'm evaluating TPS65987DEVM with debug mode of Application Customization Tool.

While I reading some register data, I'm sometimes facing an issue the all data becomes 0xFF suddenly.

If I face this issue, I have to reboot the EVM to recover.

This issue happens very frequently, so it's annoying.

How can I avoid this issue?

I think slave address is no problem because I can find the address by sweeping I2C address range.

  • Hello,

Sorry to hear that this is not working consistently.

The DJ device is not recommended, so please confirm the part number and the version on the GUI you are using.

You are showing the data register page.  Do you see the same 0xFF data in the Mode and Version registers?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris

  • Hi

I found FTDI output sometimes doesn't reach High correctly.

This issue was not TPS65987D issue, so I close this ticket, thank you.
