Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65981, TPS65987DDK
Tool/software:
I have a TPS65987DDKEVM dev board setup as a source to charge a mobile phone via USB-C.
Using the TPS65981_2_7_8 Application Customization Tool I can't get the chip to send a "Get Battery Status" message (GBaS). When I use the debug feature to send the command I can't see any activity on the CC lines indicating the chip does not attempt to send the message. Why might this be?
Checking the CMD1 register I see "!CMD" which indicates it is not supported.
I have enabled the "Support Battery Status Message" option in the PD3 Configuration Register.
Any ideas what I am missing?
Thanks
