GPCCHEM: No ChemID with DOD deviation below 3%

I have performed a cycle on cell according to slva725a guide for selecting a Chem ID and uploaded to GPC Chem Tool.

The report I got back found a chem ID of 3567 with 5.6% deviation as the best match.

What does that 5.6% mean - is the maximum error between the voltage of 3567 and the tested cell at the same SoC?

Is there a way to tell where the worst mismatch occurs - i.e. at the start of discharge (less important in our application) or at the end of the discharge (more important for our application)?

Hello Micah,

The 5.6% is the error on DOD correlation. We ideally want the error to be less than 3%. Can you send me the data that you submitted into the GPCCHEM tool.

Hi Adrian,

Here is the data. It is for a Li-metal cell which has a much higher cutoff voltage on discharge than standard li-ion cells.

I also attached the report received from the GPC tool. It highlighted the discharge was not quite long enough (4 hours instead of 5-10 hours), but I'm pretty sure that is not the cause of the increased error.

If no existing Chem IDs match well, what is the process for generating a new Chem ID?
