BQ-BATTERY-PROGRAMMER-SW: battery

Part Number: BQ-BATTERY-PROGRAMMER-SW

Tool/software:

Dear Supplier,

We currently purchase batteries, including batteries that are contained within your products, from you for distribution in the EU internal market. In light of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 of July 12, 2023 on batteries and waste batteries (so-called Batteries Regulation, hereinafter: Regulation 2023/1542; the current version is available at: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A32023R1542), which came into force on August 17, 2023, we ask you to confirm the legal conformity of your batteries, i.e.

  • the batteries we purchase from you meet the applicable, relevant requirements of Regulation 2023/1542,
  • that they have the required labelling,
  • that the batteries are accompanied by the required documents in accordance with Regulation 2023/1542,
  • that further prescribed documents are available and that you will make these available to us on request in the future.

As the importer of your batteries, we must ensure that the requirements set out in Regulation 2023/1542 are met at the time we place them on the market.

This requires that the batteries we purchase from you must already meet the requirements of Regulation 2023/1542, which come into force in stages.

We kindly ask you to reply by means of the enclosed reply letter by 6 November 2024.

We would also like to inform you in advance that from 18 August 2025, we will have to ensure compliance with the due diligence obligations pursuant to Art. 47 et seq. Regulation 2023/1542. The due diligence obligations require us, among other things, to conclude additional agreements with our suppliers (see, for example, Art. 49 para. 1 e) Regulation 2023/1542). We will be contacting you at a later date with additional information on this in a separate email.

If you have any questions about our letter, please do not hesitate to contact us. Further information and content can also be found in the attached PDF “Information letter Regulation 2023/1542”

Thanks

  • Hi Gopal,

As far as I am aware, none of our parts are sold with batteries included. The parts we provide are ICs for managing batteries. If you've purchased a product from TI that contains batteries, then I believe you have brought this inquiry to the wrong team.

I also want to note that this forum is for asking technical and applications questions about the parts we provide. For this inquiry, I recommend contacting your local TI sales representative for the support you need.

    Regards,

    Max Verboncoeur
