TPS25830A-Q1: LD_det and POL Application confirmation and EMC BCI report application.

Part Number: TPS25830A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Could you please look into my following questions and give me feedback at the earliest,

  1. In which cases we need to implement LD_det and POL? e.g. USB3.0 MUX, diag, etc?
  2. Any EMC BCI report for 25830?
  • Hi Alan,

    1.  The only signal that you are required to use for USB3.0 is the POL bit to select the pair mapping on the High speed lines.

    2.  We have done EMC testing, but I am not aware of a formal BCI report.  I will look to see what has been completed.

    Regards,

    Chuck

  • Hi Chuck,

    Thanks for you reply.

In addition,Pls help check on what the maximum capacitance is allowed for the CC lines ? we do not need to support PD BMC , just targeting on TYPE-C charging / USB2.0 / Carplay and Android auto.

  • Alan,

If the CC lines are only used for type C negotiation with DC levels, then we have used as much as 1 nF on the CC lines.  We actually have recommended 1nF at the connector pins to improve EMC performance.

    Regards,

    Chuck
