LM51772: The Vo adjustment in charging phase

Part Number: LM51772

Tool/software:

Hi TI Experts

We use LM51227  in wireless power charger in auto.

The datasheet described the Vo can dynamical progarming via I2C  from:

-3.3V up to48V in20 mV steps

-1V up to 24V in 10mV steps.

The question is:

If we chose 10mV steps to set Vo at 24V in chargering phase, then,if we need more higher Vo, can we set steps to 20mV  in order to set Vo at 26V?

It`s free to switch this two steps in a charging phase, and this operation will not  to turn off the charging function?

The charging process is continuous during the voltage step transition, right?

  • Hi Devin,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We will look into this and come back with an answer until the end of the week.

    Best regards

    Moritz

  • Hi Devin,

yes, you can also change the FB_20 bit on the the fly / during operation but the will the lead to a step response of the output voltage as this will take effect immediately. So depending on the speed up updating the VOUT register this will then ramp up or down.

    Best regards,
