hi team,
my customer said that he can't find how to set PF value in the excel application design tool. Do u have any advise? thanks!

Hello Zoey,
There is no input in the Excel tool to set PF value. Since this is a power factor corrector, it is assumed that the desired PF will be as close to 1 as possible.
Calculations are done using this assumption.
And if the design is done correctly, PF will usually be > 0.99 at full-load and at any input line voltage.

Ulrich
Hi expert , Thanks for your supply. Do we have 2kw reference design with this device? My customer find that the excel tool may focus on the small power design
Hello Zoey,
The UCC28070A Excel design tool should work for any output power level.
However, it is biased to designs for "universal input" range of 85Vrms to 265Vrms, and design assumptions are built into the calculations for this input range.
Therefore the tool makes some incorrect recommendations for component values when the input voltage range is high-line only (170Vrms-265Vrms, for example). Especially, the recommended inductor value is generally too low. Please use the UCC28070A datasheet design procedure for accurate values.
I could not find any 2kW reference designs, or anything near there. There is an 800W semi-bridgeless Ref Dsgn for the UCC28070: https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP40261 . I'm sure that it can be scaled to 2kW.

Ulrich
