In TPS62873 and TPS6287B25 datasheet, there are different spec definitions or application requirement a below:

Why does 62873 need to connect to GOSNS while why does 6287B25 need to connect to AGND?

    Hi Hale,

    the TPS6287x family is divided into two different IC families.

    -70,- 71, -72 and -73 share the same technology.

    B10, B15, B20, B25 have a different technology.

    While they share a lot of features, there are differences internally that also include the compensation. That is also why there is an overlap in the Iout options.

    Hi Hale,

    in your first post you asked about the different ground connections for COMP.

    You may compare the the functional block diagrams (section 8.2 in each datasheet) and see, that the 7x devices do not have an AGND connection, so GOSNS is chosen as the least noisy ground connection. A dedicated analog ground  as available in the 7Bx devices is a cleaner way, especially with the higher currents they provide.

    The rest of the design is very similar as you can see in the diagrams. There are some small parametric changes in the compensation, that is why the formulas to calculate the COMP components has small differences as well.

    The exact values are not part of the datasheet and we would need to share this under NDA before requesting it from the design team.

    I hope this information answers the customers questions.
