TPS60243: TPS60243

Part Number: TPS60243

Tool/software:

Hello TI,

I am using a component TPS60243DGKR apparently it is announced to have a VSSOP-8 package. Whe looking at packaging types for TI site. It seems there are many possible packaging for VSSOP (seems it changed according to some TI package name). Why VSSOP can have different pitch and dimmensions while being both VSSOP?

For example VSSOP-8 with pitch 0.5mm and small dimmensions: https://www.ti.com/lit/ml/mpds050e/mpds050e.pdf?ts=1733822649565&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fpackaging%252Fdocs%252Fsearchtipackages.tsp%253FpackageName%253DSO

And VSSOP-8 with pitch 0.65mm and bigger dimmensions (which in this case it is compatible with MSOP-8). https://www.ti.com/lit/ml/mpds028e/mpds028e.pdf?ts=1733822625499&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fpackaging%252Fdocs%252Fsearchtipackages.tsp%253FpackageName%253DSO

Why there is no MSOP packaging names in TI site? https://www.ti.com/packaging/docs/searchtipackages.tsp?packageName=SO

Is it not confusing to call VSSOP package to 2 different sizes footprint and sepecify this in the components datasheet? Example is datasheet of TPS6024x in which no layout or IC dimmensions is presented and just package VSSOP in the datasheet is shown.  https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps60243.pdf?ts=1733839284997&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252FTPS60243
