LP3874-ADJ: Need clarification on PTC requirement for Vin

Hi,

Output of TPS63001DRCR (800mA) is going to connect with Vin of LP3874EMP-ADJ/NOPB and TLV70230QDSERQ1.

800mA can be sufficient at input of LP3874EMP-ADJ/NOPB and TLV70230QDSERQ1?

Do i need to use PTC fuse or other current protection? if i directly connect Vout with Vin of LP3874EMP-ADJ/NOPB and TLV70230QDSERQ1.

Hi Gaurav,

The peak output current of LP3874EMP-ADJ/NOPB is 1A. I am not sure what you mean by '800mA can be sufficient at input of LP3874EMP-ADJ/NOPB and TLV70230QDSERQ1'.

LP3874 has integrated overcurrent/ overtemperature protection. TLV702 has an internal current limit that operates until thermal shutdown is reached. The value of this limit as well as the recommended max output current of TLV702 is less than 400 mA.
