UCC2813-5: Support and confirmation on UCC2813 suitability in -40deg.C application

Hello,

For DC to DC battery charger application, considering using UCC2813-5 in 2 location, one as aux power supply and second for battery charging in 2 switch forward topology.

Application is battery charging in CC CV mode.

Ambient temperature range is -40deg.C to +50deg.C

Input voltage :- 20V to 30Vdc

Output voltage: - 14Vdc

Appreciate your guidance / confirmation whether UCC2813-5 can be used.

Hi,

It is ok to use. But the IC is for CV control. For CC control, you need to add external circuit by current signal as feedback.

For two switch forward, you need to add a high side MOSFET gate driver.

Dear Hong Huang,

Thanks for quick support. Will take forward. For CCCV using dual opamp and driver IC is IRS2186. Hope fully this shall also be good to go.
