TPS715: The different between TPS71501DCKRM3&TPS71501DCKR

Hi,

Our end custome feedback to us they release the order by TPS71501DCKR, based on datasheet description, TPS71501DCKR is the legacy chip technolog process, and TPS71501DCKRM3 is the new chip,

but they find the TPS71501DCKR order mixed the new chip, so we need to know between:

1. What the different between TPS71501DCKRM3&TPS71501DCKR?

2. If there are any effect if customer use the new chip TPS71501DCKR by the original schematic diagram?

3. Is there any PCN for this mixed issue?

Zhang,

TPS71501DCKRM3 is new chip only. However, TPS71501DCKR will have both new and legacy chip until we exhaust the inventory of the legacy chip. The legacy chip will not be available in the future.

The best way to differentiate is by using the shipping label. CSO:RFB is new chip and all others will be legacy chip.

Hi,

Customer affraid the they get the both new and legacy chip has the failure risk, and we need to use all the legacy chip because this is the CEM project,

Not sure what help is needed here? Shipping label is the best way to know which part is new vs legacy.

Hi Prakash,

There are many different between the new chip and legacy chip in the datasheet, so customer afraid the new chip has the failure issue

because the design is belong to legacy chip, so pleaes advise if there are any suggestion if we can get all the legacy chip when we

release the order by the part# TPS71501DCKR

Zhang,

We are not building the legacy chip anymore, so I don't think there is a way to ship only legacy chip. The PCN was sent out in March of 2023. The differences between legacy chip and new chip is considered to be minimal.
