TPS63807: Alternative part to output 2A at 5V from 3.0-4.4V

Hi,

We are looking for a boost regulator in BGA package to output at least 2A at 5V. Input voltage 3.0V - 4.4V.

There are for sure plenty of boosts to pick from, but many of them are specified to 1.5A or less and many are not clearly specified at 5V output (but typically 3.3V). Also, the online selection guide does not allow filtering on output current (there is a column but no values).

It appears to me that TPS6380x (TPS63807) would do the job, but it also seemed a bit overspecified for the job.

Question: Could you please propose some other part number to do the job, ideally coming in lower in list price than TPS6380x ($0.9 per 1k)?

    Hi ,

    Recommend TPS63806 for your application. This device has a high current limit than TPS63807 to support a higher output current.

    I think main challenge for this case is not about output capability but the risk of thermal protection, be carafull.
