My customer is considering TPSM365R6V5 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

I have a question about the pattern for the TPSM365R6V5RDNR.

Regarding the VIN3 pin and SW6 pin,

There are no vias in the layout example in 10.4.2 Layout Example.

On the other hand, there are two vias for each in the land pattern example.
・What are these vias for?
・Are these vias necessary? I think the vias are large compared to the pattern.

Hi Shinichi,

The vias are for heat dissipation. The number of vias depends on the application and its required heat dissipation, board size etc.

The vias shown in the second picture are optional and it is to show the locations where you can have vias if needed.
