LM3691: Min operating temp is -30C?

Tool/software:

The minimum operating temperature on the LM3691 datasheet is -30C. Can it run reliably at -40C? Was it just not tested lower? Will operating characteristics be out of the specified range if used down to -40C?

proper function and the specified device characteristics of the device are not guaranteed outside the recommended operating temperature.

Is there any known failure point on this part at cold temperatures? Is it just a matter of getting it qualified to lower temperatures but the testing just hasn't been done because of it's originally intended use case?

Hello Paul,

Please let me answer this since Andreas is out of office.

I'm not aware of a failure point for this device at cold temperature. But the part is not characterized down to -40°C, and we do not recommend to use it outside of the datasheet specification range.
