ISO5852S-EP: Propagation delays measurement for bi polar gate driver

Part Number: ISO5852S-EP

Tool/software:

I would like to measure the Low to high propagation delay ,  high to low propagation delay in my application. In my application gate voltage will raise from -8V to 15V, as per below image to measure the low to high propagation time  what gate voltage level i have to consider (50% of 15V which is 7.5V  or 50% of 23V which is 11.5V)?    similar question to measure high to low propagation time what gate voltage level i have to consider (50% of -8V which is -4V or 50% of 23V which is 11.5V). I think the below image is the way of approach for calculating propagation delays for unipolar applications, am i correct?

  • Hello,

Thank you for you question. Our team is out of office on Dec 24 and Dec 25 due to US holiday. Please also expect delay in our response during the holiday season period (from Dec 24 through Jan 2).

    Thank you for your patience,

    Leslie

  • Hi Naga,

The below image shows how propagation delay is measured according to the test conditions specified in the datasheet, which is Vcc2-GND2 = 15V, GND2-Vee2 = 8V, Cload = 1nF. Seems to match your Vcc2 and Vee2 values, although you might be using a different load capacitance.

Thus, the propagation delay is measured as 50% of Vcc2-Vee2, which is -8V+(15V+8V)/2 = 3.5V.

    Hope this helps,

    Vivian
