TLC6946: How to stop the output

Hi team,

Customer want to set the output current of all channels to 0mA.

Could you check if following option1-3 can stop the output? I think it's obvious that options 4 and 5 stop the output.

Option1: Just stop GCLK

Option2: Stop GCLK at the end of sub-period

Option3: Send 2 VSYNC command(1st VSYNC command: BANK B become active, BANK A is reset. 2nd VSYNC command: BANK A become active)

Option4: Write all 0 GS data and sent VSYNC command

Option5: Turn off all scan switch

    Sorry for the delay.

    Option 1/2: Seeming feasible. ESPWM function is related to GCLK. I've tested using TLC5949 which also has the ESPWM feature for I don't have a TLC6946-EVM now. The output is related to GCLK. About 200us after removing the GCLK, the output stopped according to the waveform. However, to verify the actual performance of TLC6946, it's better to test it directly.

    Option 3: Not feasible. The data of memory bank will not be cleared after VSYNC.

    Option 4/5: Of course it's OK.
