TPS25830-Q1: Fault output voltage

Part Number: TPS25830-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0104E-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Support team,

When TPS25830-Q1 the fault pin is pulled low, the maximum voltage is 250mV?

Since we are using the level shifter TXS0104E-Q1 connected to the MCU,

and the maximum VIL of the level shifter is 0.15V, does this mean the level shifter might fail to switch states? Thanks.

  • Hi Jim,

You are correct.  If FAULT output goes from hi-z to low, the level shifter might not interpret a logic low.

This can be improved by controlling R_pullup to reduce I_SINK_PIN, but there is no guarantee that it will meet your 150mV VIL spec.

    Regards,
    Eric
