TPS25942L: fault pin

Hi Team,

in datasheet, it mentioned that Fault will be pulled down when UV, OV, OC, reverse current, thermal shutdown. In TPS25942L, it will latch in OC. so will Fault recover when OC remove？ How about other conditions, will Fault pin recover automatically? Thanks.

Hi Given,

This is 'L' variant so it will remain off after the fault condition and will require power cycling or EN cycling to restart the device. FLTb should also remain latched and will reset when Vin goes below 2.1V.

From datasheet，I only see it will latch off in overcurrent. So for other fault，it will also latch and FLTb only reset when power cycle，will FLTb reset by EN cycling?

Thank you for bringing this up, you are correct. The FLTb will not latch for UV, OV, condition. OC will cause TSD. The latching will happen for TSD and OC condition. I hope this explains it in better way.

Thanks. I asked the question because we met an issue that on some pcs that FLTB pull low at low temp. I will start another thread to discuss on this. thanks.
