CSD16301Q2: VCSEL Driver solution for ToF Camera

Thanks for the inquiry. I am the applications engineer for TI's Power MOSFET product line. I am not aware of any devices that integrate the constant current LED driver with the FET. I am going to reassign this thread to our LED drivers applications team to get their input.

I am system engineer from APP-LED-DL team. We have many constant current LED driver. Do you have a target bias current and forward voltage range for the VCSEL?

Thank you, John Wallace1 John Shen. The lighting solution has not been finalized yet, so we still have room for discussion regarding the VCSEL connection method; we still have multiple options.

However, since this is an automotive application, it needs to be an AEC-Q100 product. Currently, my estimate is to use a Buck solution, with a series VF of approximately 12V and a driving current of about 2A to 3A.

The LP8868Z is indeed one of my options, but I want to confirm if its PWM/EN response time is sufficient for 200MHz modulation. If not, I will have to use it for high side current limit and additionally add a shunt MOSFET.

LP8868Z's PWM/EN cannot support 200MHz. It can only provide a 2~3A bias current as the VCSEL needs. Modulation should be realize externally.
