TPS62260: TPS62260 VIN OVERVOLTAGE

Part Number: TPS62260

Tool/software:

What is the failure mode when an overvoltage is applied to the VIN pin of the TPS62260?
Will there be a voltage output at the SW pin in that case?

  • Hello ??,

    thanks for using E2E.

We don't have an official Failure Mode Analysis document for this device. I think an over-voltage applied at the VIN pin will permanently damage the device. I assume it is possible that this can result in an internal short between VIN and SW or between VIN and GND. In the first case you might see permanent VIN level at the SW pin.

    Best regards,

    Andreas.
