TPS2663: TPS26630RGE Efuse powering on issue.

Tool/software:

We are observing that the TPS26630RGE effuse IC misbehave in one of the device.

Issue: after applying power 1st time device is powering on properly, but when we try power off and on again the device is not drawing any current and stays in the same state even after multiple power off and on again.

 

Steps to reproduce the Device:

  1. power connect for DUT 1st time -> DUT power on normally.
  2. Power off the DUT and On again -> Device is not powering on (but initially for very small duration device draws some current.
  3. Repeat step 2 for the multiple time but device does not recover from the step 2 observation.

 

Please can you let us know the cause for the above behavior of TPS26630RGE effuse IC and how do we differentiate between overcurrent, thermal shutdown, output short ?.

Observation:

we tried shutdown short in good device and observed that good device is behaving same as issue device. please can you tell us in which cases TPS26630RGE will enter into shutdown state,

    Welcome e2e. 

    you are testing the efuse on TI EVM or your board?( please share schematic)

    how much load are you applying?

    It would be helpful if you get waveforms while power on.

    VIN, VOUT, IIN and FLT would be helpful.
