BQ76905: Individual Cell Direction Monitoring

Hello,

I am looking for a part to monitor the voltages and polarity of individual cells in a 3S configuration.

We have a hard requirement that each individual cell should be replaceable in the field.

I saw that the BQ76905 will monitor OVP and UVP of individual cells along side the entire pack voltage.

Can this part be used to detect reverse polarity of a single cell? If not does TI have a part that will monitor this?

Thanks for the response.
Looking at the BQ76905 section 8.2.4 of the data sheet says that there are diodes between the VC pin and the adjacent lower pin that is normally reversed biased. Do you have forward bias information for this diode such as the forward bias voltage and the forward bias current?

Hello Nathan,

The forward bias voltage should be ~0.3V, however, we do not have information on the forward bias current to share.
