TPS25830A-Q1: BOOT 0ohm selection consultation

Part Number: TPS25830A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I see that the EVM design selects a 100mW Oohm resistor.
The customer now selects a 0402(1005)/62.5mW 0Ω, and the customer wants to confirm if there is a problem?
In addition, how should we evaluate and calculate the power requirements that the 0ohm resistor needs to meet in this place?

  • Hi Alan,

I don't think it will cause any significant problem.

Generally for zero-Ohm resistors, when the current flowing through it is less than 1A, we can use 0603 (0.1W) or 0402 (0.065W). It's more based on experience since the components from different vendors may have different parasitics.

    BR,

    Ke Wang
