Hi All,

I have a question about UCC256402 operation.

The LO gate pulse is not switching correctly during burst mode operation.

Can you tell me why it is not switching correctly?

Or can you tell me how to confirm the cause and what to do?

Hi Ishiwata,

This could happen due to two things. 1. The BMTL threshold is too low so that there is no enough energy in the resonant tank that could miss slew rate detection or 2. ISNS is too low that the controller trying to switch at the right polarity. So, Could you try increasing BMTL first. And if that doesn't solve the issue try increasing ISNS resistor value.

Maybe the ISNS is too low, so the resistance of the ISNS needs to be lower?

Wouldn't a higher resistance result in a lower current?

Hi Ishiwata,

Increasing ISNS resistance will increase the magnitude of the ISNS signal at the IC pin. It will not affect the actual tank current.
