LMR14030-Q1: Schematic review request

Part Number: LMR14030-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I've designed the following buck converter circuit to take VBATT, which can range from 6V to 17V and output 5V at up to 3A max. Can you check to ensure this is designed well, the passive values look correct, and if the desired output will be achievable? Additionally, is it appropriate for me to use the output as the source for an LED which would tell me my output is on? I know it's not exactly the best way to show the converter is on but this isn't a particularly sensitive application.

Thank you in advance!

  • Hello Zaeef

I reviewed your schematic. Values of selected components looks fine to me. Additionally, I used WEBENCH to check the stability margins.

Based on the webench design, stability margins look sufficient. For more information I would recommend you have a look at the webench design. Here is its link for your reference - webench.ti.com/.../SDP.cgi

    Thank you
