Hi,

I have a very dense design using the LMR43610-Q1 regulator and I have doubts about my connection of the sense trace to RFBT (R10) resistor. Here is the schematic:

Right now I have a thin but long trace from the RFBT resistor to the output capacitor.

The alternative I'm thinking on is to place a via in the position marked in red to connect the RFBT resistor directly to the plane. I think this approach could be cleaner but I have doubts because typically the recommendation is to use a short trace and avoid connections to the plane. What is your recommendation?

Hi,

Can you give the information about the load? Meaning is it near to the red marker? Because if the load is away from the upper terminal of the resistor then you will not really measure the actual output.

Hi,

The load is distributed along the plane through some vias. The PCB is tiny so everything is really close.

Hi,

Yes, you can have a via to connect upper terminal of RFBT but there are some things that need to be taken care of:

1) FB node must be away from noisy sources.

2) Upper terminal of RFBT must be near the output pin so that the error in sensing is minimum.
