TPS25221: working of IC understanding

Hi Team,

We have TPS25221DRV Used this IC in our design.

We have given 5V input generated from separate regulator (TPS82130SIL) and given to this IC TPS25221DRV

When connecting to load, Voltage is going zero from IC TPS25221DRV.   But It is making my regulator output also to zero.

Any idea what could be the issue?

    Sathya,

    What is the current load on the TPS82130SIL?  

    I checked it's datasheet and it is a 3A regulator.  The TPS25221 can be set to have a current limit from 270mA to 2.7A, so if the current limit is set to 2.7A and the TPS82130SIL has an addition 300mA of load, then the TPS82130SIL could be going into output current limit and turning off.

    The TPS25221 will allow the amount of current that is selected on the ILIM pin to pass through without consideration of the input voltage, so there is no protection against input under voltage.
