Tool/software:

hello

I'm going to make a Dual-Port Adapter , the diagram is as follows.
please help provide a suitable solution or EVK.

many thanks.

  • HI Yang-Lun,

Is the dual port a total of 100W or 100W per port? For two independent USB PD ports, you would need to post-regulate to support the full output voltage range for each port. Here is an example based on our UCG28826. One of the best features of the UCG28826 is that it is self-biased which removes the auxiliary winding from the transformer. However, the nominal power is limited to 65W.

To support a 100W for USB Type C PD, we have the UCC28782 which is an active clamp flyback. This can achieve efficiencies over 91%.

For a PFC in the adapter space, I would recommend the UCC28056. A transition-mode PFC will have much lower standby power consumption than a CCM PFC. Also, the solution size will be a lot smaller.

I hope this helps you get started.

  • hi

the Dual port is a total 100W.
