BQ25125: How to generate a reset when charging

Part Number: BQ25125

Tool/software:

Hi,

We would like to generate a reset pulse when we plug a charger.

Our idea was to connect /PG output to /MR input, so a reset pulse is generated when a valid power input is present. This work well but we observe an extra leakage current in shipping mode.

It's look like that the /PG output  is tied to GND in shipping mode. It is correct ?

There are another easy method to generate a reset pulse during the charge process ?

Regards,

CYril

  • Hi Cyril,

On shipmode entry a pulldown is enabled on the which, if tied to the /MR pin, may cause a shipmode exit. This is not a recommended resolution.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with any simple reset-on-plug in schemes for this device that wouldn't involve a host controller or some external logic.
