BQ76942EVM: BQ76942 I2C Communication Droping

Part Number: BQ76942EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76942

Tool/software:

Hello,

I want to use the BQ76942 AFE IC in my project. I previously purchased the BQ76942 EVM board, and I have successfully established I2C communication with the AFE. I am reading cell voltages from the AFE, and the voltages are accurate with no data loss or errors. I am using the AFE in fast I2C communication with reset mode.

However, when I use the AFE in CRC mode, the I2C communication randomly drops at intervals, and this occurs quite frequently. On the other hand, without CRC, the I2C communication is more stable, but after approximately 4 hours, the I2C communication drops. When the communication drops, I can re-establish it either by sending 9 clock cycles or by resetting the AFE. But I do not know the reason why the I2C communication fails over time.

I have tested this with all available I2C communication modes, and I face the same issue in each of them. What could be the possible causes for this issue?
