TPS65219: TPS6521901 Vs TPS6521903

Part Number: TPS65219

Tool/software:

Hi

We are planning to use TPS65219 for our AM625x based SOM. The input voltage to the SOM is 5V. The board is designed for low power, less form factor. Please let us know which is suitable TPS6521901 or TPS6521903.

Is it good if we use a buck to convert 5V to 3.3V and then supply to PMIC(TPS6521903) ? or use the 5V input PMIC(TPS6521901) variant? Please let us know.

  • Hi Prema,

Thank you for reaching out on e2e.

You can use either one, make sure the power sequencing matches application requirement.

I would say you go with TPS6521901 because 5V is readily available from SOM board and for TPS6521903 you have to find a Buck converter that can supply all the demand of all the 7 rails and could be expensive. In TPS6521901 also you are using TPS6282 Buck  but that is supplying one one rail. You can compare the overall BOM cost.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
