Hi team,

I have another question about TL1451A.

We need to detect TL1451A fail.

My idea is that to monitor the comparator output signal if it is stuck high or low.
As long as the output signal is at set clock signal, it is not a failure.
If the output signal frequency falls below a certain frequency, TL1451A is determined to be failure.

Q1
To what extent can TL1451A failures be detected using the above method?　
What failure modes are there that cannot be detected?
Q2
What would be an appropriate frequency for determining a failure when the clock setting frequency is 100 kHz?

Hello Jack,

Which comparator output signal do you want to observe?

We do not have a failure mode description of this device, so I cannot answer these questions.

BTW, you might not observe a failure where the feedback node is stuck low as then the device would switch, but the output would rise to infinity.

PWM comparator output, pin#10. We are not using pin#6,7.
As far as I know, pin#10 output signal looks like "PWM Comparator Output Voltage" in Figure 2. TL1451A Timing Diagram.
Since TL1451 does not have an error detection function, I thought a good method would be to monitor the output signal of the PWM comparator.
It should be ok as long as the output signal is rinsing and falling repeatedly, I think.

Don't you also have the FIT Rate of TL1451?
