Tool/software:

I would like to know if we can use the BQ25015RHLTfuel gauge with the BQ40Z50 PMIC.

Please share any existing consideration if the 2 aren't compatible.

    Hi Laszlo,

    I do not see any obvious issues using these two in tandem. Please ensure the charger connection is made to the PACK connection of the bq40z50, not directly to the cell itself.

    Hi Laszlo,

    Below is an image of the schematic for our bq40z50-EVM, which is the typical implementation of our gauge. The red box shows the PACK connection, where the charger component will implement a charge current, along with where the application that will draw a discharge current should be attached. This allows for the gauge to protect the cell in case of any faults caused by the charger or application.
