TPS4810-Q1: SCP Issue

Part Number: TPS4810-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear Sir,

As per calculation of Sense Resistor   .

We set the trip current at 350A. according to that the SCP voltage is 130mV and the value of shunt resistor is 371.4uOhms.

Then by using the formula

The value of Riscp we got around 55kohms.

But in simulation we did not get the trip at output.

The simulation is attached for your reference.

we got 110mV at Riscp Pin.

Please help us to understand we are going a proper design or any modification needed.

Thanks

Ajay Chaurasiya

  • Ajay,

I am not seeing the simulation results, as far as the output waveforms. Could you attach them please to review?

Your math is right for the calculation, although from the engineering silicon to the final silicon the "19mV" offset was changed from 10mV. I am wondering if the PSPICE model never was updated.

If we use the old formula, that would equal an RISCP of 60K. Could you try with 60K and see if it works?

    Best Regards,
    Tim

  • Hello,

I tried with the 60k and added a CTMR according to 5us is 363pF but I used standard value of 330pF.

The waveform and schematic attached for your reference.

The output is still switching. Please check.

The Green - INP1, Blue- G1PD and G1PU and Red - Load Current.
