BQ27542EVM: SLEEP Mode on Printer Pulse Load Applications

Part Number: BQ27542EVM

Tool/software:

Dear TI Support Team,

I would like to understand how the BQ27542 entering SLEEP mode affects applications with pulse load conditions, such as a printer. Will SLEEP mode influence the gauge’s accuracy of SOH and SOC, or its ability to track dynamic load changes ?

Is it suitable to enable Fast Qmax in a printer application?

Please also provide detailed information on the update conditions for Fast Qmax and Passed Charge.

Thank you for your support.

  • Hello Tom,

When the system is in sleep mode the gauge's accuracy is mainly effect by taking less samples of values during the same period of time. This means that the SOH and SOC will update less often as if it were to be in normal mode. Within a printer application fast qmax could be suitable however fast Qmax is mainly meant for system that don't get a sufficient amount of relaxation. The application of this would be suitable if your printer is consistently being used but it depends how often within a span the printer is being used. For detailed information of Fast Qmax and passed charge please review section 6.5 on page 41 of the technical reference manual and

    Technical reference manual:
