TPS61377: EN/UVLO function

Hello,

I have a question regarding the EN/UVLO pin functionality on TPS61377.

We are using this part to boost +12V to +18V, as per the datasheet it says that the low logic on EN pin will shutdown the device, but with a low logic on EN pin we are getting +12V at the output.

So based on common characteristic of boosters, does shutdown means just the boosting circuit off? and it will bypass the input to the output or will it totally disable the chip and we should not get any output?

Hi Mit,

For most MV boost devices, because the inherit body diode in high side MOSFET, the Vin->Vout path cannot be cutoff completely. If you need a boost with true disconnect function, please look at TPS61376

I'm facing the same issue as the above.

Do you have a drop-in replacement with a true disconnect function?

Hi Doron,

There's no pin to pin replacement for TPS61377. Please look at TPS61378 or TPS61376 for true disconnection.
