LMZ22003 minimum overhead for 5 VDC output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZ22003

Does anyone know the minimum overhead voltage required for 5 VDC output for the LMZ22003?

Thanks

  • When the part is running off the internal clock at 800Khz the following chart from the datasheet can be used to determine minimum input voltage.  The number in this table is very conservative and based upon the 5 amp version of the part, tested over temperature.

When the part is synchronized to an external clock.  Use the following equation as a first pass.

    Minimum Vin = Vout / (1 - 500e-9 * switching frequency).

    Example

For 5V out and a switching frequency of 650Khz.

The minimum Vin would be around

     5V / (1 - 500e-9 * 650KHz) = 7.4V
