BQ51003: Possible to use thermocouple instead of NTC?

Part Number: BQ51003

Tool/software:

Good afternoon,

I am using bq51003 for a wireless Qi charger receiver. I currently use a NTC as thermal protection, but I would like to replace it by a thermocouple so it is easier to set at different places. Has anyone done something like that, and would be able to share it with me? If not, could I have some tips about how to do it?

Best,

V.C.

  • Hi V.C.

No have not seen this done.  The TS / CTRL pin is set up to support an NTC and would need additional circuits to support thermocouple.

Another option to consider is a leaded NTC see See Semitec 103AT-2 this is standard version, 103AT-11 and 103AT-4 are leaded versions.
