LP5018: Power dissipation calculation

Hi,

If the LED consumes If current at Vf voltage, is the (Vled - Vf)*If power dissipated? Please refer example calculation below.

What is the optimal Vled voltage? How low voltage can I choose (since lesser Vled results in lesser heat dissipation)?

    Hi Jagan,

    Yes, the calculation is correct.

    The ruler is to make sure the output voltage (VLED- VF) is larger than the max VSAT as shown in the EC table below, the output set current can be guaranteed.
