BQ40Z50: Compatibility of BQ40Z50-R1 Golden Image with BQ40Z50-R2

Dear TI Team,

Due to schedule constraints, we plan to generate the golden image using BQ40Z50-R1 first. Can we directly apply this golden image to BQ40Z50-R2?

Could you please confirm if this method is feasible, or if there are any potential concerns we should be aware of?

    Hello Tom, 

    There would be fairly complex and it would be easier to redo the golden image on the R2 but if you would like to keep the same R1 golden image onto R2 here are the steps.

    -Get all your parameters from your R1 Golden image

    -Flash your BQ40Z50 with R2 firmware in the programmable tab in BQStuido 

    -Manually update all your parameters in data memory, make you your update "Update Status = 06" 

    -Manually update your chemID to be the same as R1 onto R2 

    -Export your Golden image SREC.
