Tool/software:

hi Team,

  1. Is it possible configure TPS25751 as only Source? I can see in the web programmer tool (either source& Sink or sink only) and source only is 5V3A. But I was looking for an option source only with 100W(upto 20V/5A).
  2. How can we program TPS25751 in the production? I have found some documents that say we need to create a patch file and program into EEPROM/IC_ Is there any direct method to program the IC in production?
  3. Do we need to program BQ25731 separately in production? Or TPS25751 will take cake of BQ25731 settings?
  4. Do you have any specific application schematic for reference with TPS25751 and BQ25731?

Regards

Andreas

  • Hi Andreas,

Is it possible configure TPS25751 as only Source? I can see in the web programmer tool (either source& Sink or sink only) and source only is 5V3A. But I was looking for an option source only with 100W(upto 20V/5A).

Who is the end customer, what kind of application are they designing and what DCDC are they looking to pair with TPS25751?

How can we program TPS25751 in the production? I have found some documents that say we need to create a patch file and program into EEPROM/IC_ Is there any direct method to program the IC in production?

TPS25751 requires either an EEPROM or MCU for the PD configuration. Upon boot-up, TPS25751 will attempt to read from a EEPROM (if present) and load the stored full flash binary. If an EEPROM is not present, an MCU/EC can load the PD low region binary via I2C through the Patch Burst Mode Sequence, refer to the TPS25751 Technical Reference Manual for details.

Do we need to program BQ25731 separately in production? Or TPS25751 will take cake of BQ25731 settings?

If you use TPS25751 integrated I2C control for BQ25731, TPS25751 will automatically configure BQ25731 some basic settings include charge voltage and current. During run-time, TPS25751 will also automatically set VOTG/IOTG when in source mode as well as VINDPM/INDPM in sink mode.

Do you have any specific application schematic for reference with TPS25751 and BQ25731?

We currently do not have reference schematic but you can refer to the TPS25751EVM User Guide for details on connecting the TPS25751EVM and the BQ25713EVM (similar to BQ25731). The User guide will be updated later this year to include details for BQ25731 support.

Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns!

    Thanks and Regards,
