BQ25750: Can BQ25750 Support Battery Supplying Power to Input (VAC)?

Part Number: BQ25750

Tool/software:

Dear TI support Team,

We are evaluating the BQ25750 and would like to confirm whether it supports the following function:

  • Can the battery supply power back to the input (VAC) under certain conditions?

  • If yes, what are the necessary configuration settings or register modifications to enable this function?

  • If not, could you recommend an alternative charger that supports this feature for a 3s~8s cell battery?

We appreciate your insights and any relevant documentation.

Best Regards,

  • Hello Tom,

    1. Yes, the BQ25750 could supply power back to VAC. You would need to remove the ACFETs and short the SYS pin to VAC.

    2. To supply power from the battery to VAC, I recommend using the buck-boost converter. You would need to set either EN_REV=1 or EN_AUTO_REV=1. You'll also need an I2C command to get the BQ25750 to exit reverse mode.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Best Regards,
    Ethan Galloway
