Tool/software:
I saw BQ27Z746 is in the supported device list of BQ-BMS-PROGRAMMER-SW.
But I am not sure which exe file should I use for BQ27Z746.
Can I use EV2400 with BQ-BMS-PROGRAMMER-SW to program golden image?
Thanks!

Hello Soo,
This question has been assigned and will be answered as soon as possible.
Thank you,

Hello Soo,
We recommend sticking with BQStudio throughout the process of development, this tool would be the most streamline and user friendly software to use.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for your reply.
We are thinking to use EV2400 with BQ-BMS-PROGRAMMER-SW to program golden image in production line if possible.
What is the recommended method of programming golden image in production line from TI?
Regards,
Soo San
Hello Soo,
There is no production tool that is provided by TI either than BQPRODUCTION but this is mainly meant for pervious generation of EV2300. The customer is responsible for delivery the golden image file on there end however this package can be sent in a i2C format as well.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the info.
I have further questions as below:

Soo San
Hello Soo San Lee,
1-Pleaes reference this e2e trend that discuss the difference,
2- The most common would be bq.fs and df.fs and the choice would be up to the user. In terms of which programming the golden image this can also be done through the MCU. I've attached documentation that better discuss the process of this.

Hi Alan,
We need to program the bq.fs using external tool like Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter (can we use this tool?).
I tried to program the golden image through I2C.
.
.
.
The I2C data can be sent successfully from beginning until W: AA 00 00 0F
When go to ROM Mode, I failed to send the data (with slave address : 0x16, data : 07 DE 83).
Could you please advise what is the correct way to send the I2C data during ROM Mode?
Thanks.
Regards,
Soo San
Hello Soo San,
We don't give support on external tools for gauge programming, this is the role of the developer to make and debug a system to program with the gauge. I've attached a document that can help in this process.

Hi Alan,
Is BQ27Z746 a flash gauge or ROM gauge?
If it is a flash gauge, is it able to enter ROM mode?
Or does it need another command to enter reprogramming mode?
Regards,
Soo San
Hello Soo San,
The BQ27Z746 is a flash gauge (typically gauges with the letter "Z" in the name are flash gauges), I've attached this other document that although it is not for the gauge you are using it application is still similar.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the information.
My issue is same with the post below:
However there is no conclusion on the cause and the solution.
Let me know if you have more information regarding this issue.
Thank you.

Hi Alan,
I am using BQ27Z746EVM, the same behavior has been seen in all 3 EVM i have.
We tried to change the I2C speed from 400kHz to 100kHz, this solve the issue.
Probably ROM mode doesn't support 400kHz speed?
Thanks for your help!
Regards,
Soo San
Hello Soo,
That is correct. 400kHz speed should not be used in ROM mode.

Adrian
