BQ25730: Charger IC Recommendation Inquiry

Hi, TI expert

A customer has an inquiry regarding Charger IC recommendation with the following content.

1) Expected to charge 5,000 ~ 10,000mAh Battery
→ 12W or more
2) Fast charging possible (USB D+/D- and CC Detect)
3) I2C, Power Path
→ Overcurrent detection and Power Path FET On/Off
→ Over Current Threshold setting possible
4) Additionally, it would be good if there was a model with an internal LDO.
→ Please recommend both parts with built-in LDO and parts without LDO.
5) Package: QFN
6) Please recommend products with good efficiency.

Can you recommend a charger IC that fits the above conditions?

    Hello Gary,

    I would recommend BQ25798.

    1) Expected to charge 5,000 ~ 10,000mAh Battery
    → 12W or more Yes
    2) Fast charging possible (USB D+/D- and CC Detect)The BQ25798 is one of our only multi-cell chargers with USB D+/D we do not have any with CC Detect
    3) I2C, Power Path (NVDC Power Path)
    → Overcurrent detection and Power Path FET On/Off
    → Over Current Threshold setting possible
    4) Additionally, it would be good if there was a model with an internal LDO.
    → Please recommend both parts with built-in LDO and parts without LDO.Yes, but we do not recommend powering external circuit with LDO on any of our battery chargers.
    5) Package: QFN Yes
    6) Please recommend products with good efficiency.Yes
