The high frequency (HF) sense path is made up of internal voltage comparators, as shown in the attached figure. While the low frequency (LF) sense path is made up of an internal ADC, with an effective sampling rate of 125kHz. The two independent sense paths offer redundancy in monitoring, which can be advantages in ASIL D systems. Additionally, the LF thresholds can be leveraged for the purposes of drift monitoring. By setting the LF thresholds to a tighter window than the HF thresholds the user can identify when the input voltage is approaching the HF thresholds and allow for early voltage detection.
