UCC28070A: Wide input voltage feasibility - Solar application

Dear Team,

I tried making a design using Webench for the below specification considering UCC28070A, link is given below.

Input voltage - 53Vac (75Vdc) to 70Vac (100Vdc)

Input current - 11A

Output voltage - 350Vdc

Output current - 2.3A

Output power - 800W

Boost efficiency - 95%

But I could not feed input voltage below 64Vac (90Vdc). So, I would like to know if UCC28070A can work for mentioned input voltage range or not.

If controller can work, shall I use SLUC114 sheet and proceed.

Your link doesn't work, but the device can work in your AC input range.

You can use the calculator to design your system.

Dear Ning,

Thanks for your response. Below are my few queries related to this design.

Calculation sheet instruction says it is not applicable for DC input? Pls suggest.
Linear multiplier and quantized voltage feed forward block needs AC input/zero-crossing for 50uS at least to decide Qvff levels? Now in my case input will be DC voltage, will it be a problem?

It only supports AC input as zero cross is needed.

If you have DC input, I don't understand why you need a PFC boost controller. You can just use a regular boost controller.
