LMR36503-Q1: Question about input EMI filter

Part Number: LMR36503-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear TI experts,

My customer considers LMR36503-Q1 for their new project.

And they checked typical input EMI filter for 2.2MHz.

Here are my question ;

1. Is it avaliable for 400KHz?

2. If not, could you recommend the values for 400KHz? Where can I find the equation or reference?

3. Can I make the filter which can effective for more than 2 bands like both 400KHz and 2.2MHz?

Please check this issue. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hi Chase,

    You can refer the following app-note (specifically, eqn. 5) to select filter components for 400k : https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snva489c/snva489c.pdf

    Due to the filter being low-pass, designing it for 400k should give enough attenuation at 2.2M also. However, you may have to use multiple caps depending on their self-resonant frequency to ensure the capacitance value throughout the range. The inductor/ferrite bead resonant frequency should also be much higher than 2.2M.
